Magic is a performance by Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen, centered on the exploration and manipulation of numbers. Over a 3-hour durational process, the artist uses chalk to mark concrete surfaces, visualizing palindromes—numbers that mirror themselves.
Despite self-identifying as “number blind,” which makes working with numerics a significant challenge, Rasmussen’s fascination with palindromes drives her persistence and curiosity throughout the performance. The artist invites public participation, encouraging viewers to engage with her as she navigates the complex yet mesmerizing world of mirrored numbers.
