Mitochondrial Eve 2025
In Mitochondrial Eve the different roles of motherhood, and its symbolic and physical significance is explored textually and musically with different accordionists. Body, voice and music merge in a vivid reflection on the universal significance of motherhood illuminating themes such as parenthood, childlessness, orphanhood, fertility, conscience, victimization and different models of motherhood in the animal world.
The performance was commissioned by the Foundation for Danish Norwegian Cooperation to the Vigeland Museum in Oslo in connection with the special exhibition of the Danish sculptor Kai Nielsen (DK 1882-1924) in 2025.
