When I quit smoking more than a decade ago, I promised myself that I would smoke large cigars when I grew old. That time has come.
The cigar’s scent fills the air, functioning as a cleansing ritual, like smoking a peace pipe. As I inhale and exhale, a transformation takes place. For me the cigar represents the patriarchy. By consuming the tobacco, I ingest, deconstruct, and reclaim control over that structure.
